PUBLIC REVIEW OF DENARAU ENCLAVE
LIMITED ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
Denarau Enclave Limited (DEL) is proposing a subdivision comprising of 28 villa lots on part of Denarau Island in Nadi. The proposed development is located adjacent to the Fiji Beach Resort and Spa (Managed by Hilton) at the north-eastern tip of Denarau Island. Strategic Consultants in Planning and Engineering (SCOPE) Pacific Limited as registered EIA consultants with the Department of Environment (DoE) has been commissioned by DEL to undertake an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) study of the proposed development in accordance with the Environmental Management (EM Act) Act 2005 and Environmental Regulations (EIA Process) 2007. The EIA study was conducted by SCOPE Pacific's EIA team and technical experts from Grummitt Consulting Pty Ltd (Dr Chris Grummitt) and Marine Ecology Consulting (Helen Sykes). The study has been completed, and as required under section 30 of the EM Act, the EIA Report is now open for review and comments by the public and other relevant stakeholders.
The completed EIA Report will be available for review by the public from 24th February to 16th March, 2011 during normal office hours at the following locations:
1. Denarau Corporation Limited Office û Port Denarau, Nadi
2. Nadi Rural Local Authority û Health Office, Nadi
3. Department of Environment, Western Office û Tavewa Avenue, Lautoka
4. Department of Environment, Suva û 90 Raojibhai Patel Street, Suva
Submissions on the report need to be referred to the Department of Environment, 90 Raojibhai Patel Street, Suva, no later than 4.30 pm, 16th November 2011 under the following heading:
